Ingredients
- 2 turkey legs
- 1 bottle of BBQ sauce (Bull’s Eye Original recommended)
- Taco shells or wraps
- Your choice of dressings and toppings (e.g. shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, pickled onions)
Step 1: Prep the turkey
- Place turkey legs in a large bowl with a lid to help retain moisture.
- Pour over 20% of the BBQ sauce and coat well.
Step 2: Slow cook
- Transfer to a slow cooker or the bottom oven of your Aga.
- Cook on low for 6 hours until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
Step 3: Reserve the juices
- Remove 80% of the cooking juices — don’t discard! These make excellent stock for soups or gravy.
Step 4: Shred and sauce
- Take out the turkey legs and pull the meat off the bone.
- Return the shredded meat to the cooker with the remaining BBQ sauce.
- Cook for a further 20 minutes to soak up the flavour.
